ABSTRACT

Microgrids (MGs) are systems that integrate electricity generation and Energy Storage Systems (ESS), capable of reducing transmission losses and improving efficiency in the use of electricity and heat. However, there are many features to these systems: a large amount of semiconductor equipment, stochastic nature of renewable energy sources (RES), and bidirectional power flows. Therefore, an important task is to ensure the necessary power quality indicators. Therefore, this article is dedicated to exhaustively summarizing the main aspects of the power quality of MGs when operating both in island mode and connected to grid. Finally, this document will serve as a basis for future research, comparative analysis, and further develo pment of power quality issues in MGs.

Keywords: Microgrids, Energy Storage System, power quality.
